I november 2008 bj\u00f6d konstn\u00e4ren Kajsa Dahlberg in f\u00f6reningen JA! till ett samarbete kring verket The Name of This Association Shall Be Transmission<\/em> f\u00f6r utst\u00e4llningen Moot Points: Exercises in Self Organisation, Discourse and Collaboration<\/em>, kurerad av Kathryn Elkin p\u00e5 Transmission Gallery i Glasgow. En av utg\u00e5ngspunkterna f\u00f6r Kajsa Dahlbergs projekt var att titta n\u00e4rmare p\u00e5 Transmissions stadgar. Vi best\u00e4mde oss f\u00f6r att ordna ett m\u00f6te med Transmissions styrelse f\u00f6r att diskutera deras stadgar i f\u00f6rh\u00e5llande till f\u00f6reningen JA!s J\u00e4mlikhetsAvtal<\/em> (#1, 2005).<\/p>\n

Transmissons stadgar lyder som f\u00f6ljande:
\nTo advance the education of the public generally and in particular the inhabitants of Glasgow and its environs by securing and maintaining premises for the purpose of presenting the arts in all their forms. In particular the works (in the widest meaning) of persons who under normal circumstances would be denied a platform for expressing their artistic ideas, so long as such ideas expressed through their work are not subversive of all religion and morality.<\/em><\/p>\n

Efter f\u00f6rhandlingar med Transmissions styrelse den 28 november och efter ett flertal efterf\u00f6ljande email-diskussioner f\u00f6reslog vi f\u00f6ljande f\u00f6r\u00e4ndringar av stadgarna:<\/p>\n

To develop sustainable structures and strategies for a non-profit engagement in the production of exhibitions as well as the circulation of knowledge within the field of art. To advance the education of the public generally and in particular the inhabitants of Glasgow and its environs by securing and maintaining premises for the purpose of presenting arts in all their forms. Transmission will observe an intersectional perspective and work to ensure equal opportunities in regard to gender, ethnicity, sexuality and class in all aspects of their activities; meaning exhibitions, programs, screenings, publications, availability, PR, budget and choice of committee members. A gender equal exhibition program means that at least half of the exhibited works should be made by women. An ethnic equality practice means that the institution\u2019s selection of originators should reflect the ethnic spectrum of society.<\/p>\n

Det var i synnerhet den h\u00e4r formuleringen som vi fann problematisk: \u201cso long as such ideas expressed through their work are not subversive of all religion and morality\u201d. Vi ans\u00e5g ocks\u00e5 att f\u00f6ljande formulering beh\u00f6vde vidareutvecklas: \u201cpersons who under normal circumstances would be denied a platform for expressing their artistic ideas\u201d.<\/p>\n

P\u00e5 Transmissions \u00e5rsst\u00e4mma den 22 januari 2009 introducerade och representerade Kathryn Elkin f\u00f6reningen JA! och Kajsa Dahlbergs (vid den h\u00e4r tidpunkten ocks\u00e5 medlemmar i Transmission) motion ang\u00e5ende f\u00f6r\u00e4ndring av stadgarna enligt ovan. P\u00e5 m\u00f6tet r\u00f6stade n\u00e4rvarande medlemmar enh\u00e4lligt att Transmissions stadgar skall f\u00f6rbli of\u00f6r\u00e4ndrade.<\/p>\n
